1934 ST. LOUIS CARDINALS TEAM SET
$15.00
The 1934 St. Louis Cardinals, famously known as the “Gashouse Gang,” were one of the most colorful and energetic teams in baseball history. Rough around the edges but overflowing with talent, they played with a scrappy, relentless style that made them both feared and beloved across the league. Managed by Frankie Frisch—who also starred as the team’s fiery second baseman—they finished the season 95–58 and captured the National League pennant.
The heart of the team was pitcher Dizzy Dean, a charismatic ace whose confidence was as legendary as his fastball. Dean won 30 games that year, the last National League pitcher ever to do so. His younger brother, Paul “Daffy” Dean, added 19 more wins, giving the Cardinals a formidable one-two punch on the mound.
Offensively, the team featured a lineup that mixed speed, grit, and timely hitting. Players like Pepper Martin, Ripper Collins, Joe Medwick, and Frisch himself gave the Cardinals both power and personality. They played an aggressive brand of baseball—stealing bases, taking extra risks, and rattling opponents with constant pressure.
The season peaked in a dramatic seven-game World Series against the Detroit Tigers. Powered by the Dean brothers’ pitching heroics—most famously Dizzy’s complete-game victory in Game 7—the Cardinals claimed the championship and cemented their reputation as one of baseball’s most memorable squads.
Today, the 1934 Cardinals are remembered not just for winning, but for the swagger, spirit, and sheer entertainment they brought to the game—a team of characters whose legend still echoes through baseball history.
